Screaming Girl

15th Aug 2004, 10.40pm.
A story to share: I woke up on Sunday and heard screaming from outside the
room. (QCA) Thought to myself, that was freaky. Must be my imagination.
Then it happened again. It was a girl screaming... I thought she must be in
trouble but saw no one on the level.

I wished then that i wasn't alone... you know thought it was something
supernatural. I decided to call the security - as it turned out, there was
some audition on the 5th floor. Thus the screaming.

Well, already in Brisbane for a week. Coping quite well with the cold. I am
quite happy since i covered some grounds here. Errata, web updates and
catching up with reading, proposals and my candidacy proposal for my
doctorate.

just got home - a few of us hung out for dinner with jason (who is showing at Lasalle, Earl Lu gallery). Drop him n' phi lip at Zouk. Me stuck with migraine... But i got some video footage from zouk. Hope 2 use that for my lecture in Brisbane.

Crunch time. The press release project with September - will be released this week. Finally, we have a resolved it!

She is on a scholarship-exchange program in Japan. My parents are visiting... (actually they miss her so much)

Ok, there are 5 people who run p-10. Although, i m' the only one blogging - the rest are busy with other work. Why do I keep blogging? Well, i do all my blogs with my PDA & mobile phone (for pictures). :) I 'm just seduced by the concept with mobility, know it but can't help it.

Jteo is cutting the Paul Lincoln show poster. there were some passerbys today @ p-10... Some familiar faces but never really knew them. Oh jteo made the p-10 badge, part of the fund raising drive for Paul's show.

There is a show on National Geographic about this guy who is looking for a new spieces of orchid - which he will name after his grandmother. Reminds me of the film, Adaptation. Good film.

Office / mobile office… I am always seduced by the idea of the mobile office. (I get a kick when you see those Pentium centrino ads). Working in the kitchen today, with the music from Hindu religious ritual in the background… a few mosquitoes circling me…
I missed going to Boon's talk on his work. Wanted to go to that… He told me about another lecture that he made - on contemporary art… it sounds good. Hope that we can get him to do another one sometime… later.

Yes, i finished the 1st draft for the tsunamii.net project for MAAP. i checked the e-mail just now ... Karee sent an e-mail to the Brisbane community... to ask them to catch me while i was there. That's so nice. :). Anyhow will end my transmission here with some pics from my phone. Gd nite.

7/18/04, 6:52pm, Sunday. Back at p-10: swept the floor, brought down the unpacking London t-shirts and the silk screen stuff from Boon's studio.

In a while, me & jteo will go film the bollywood screening near Sungei Road. Maybe could drop by @ the Artists Village office. - catch up with Jeremy or Dennis.

Wow! A big tour bus just stopped outside p-10. Yes, it is some kind of feeder service for the people in little India... There is such a big community in Little India, must find ways to tap into it. These days when i see people on the street - i think of them as been to an exhibition or not been to an exhibition yet. Another big tour bus just crawled past....

Time: 7:49pm, dinner @ one of our favorite haunts, "c.m.k restaurant". (@ the cross-junction near Mustafa). "...even the chicken here is very fresh."-jteo. See photo.

Hectic but a gd day.

It seems that I over-did-it, with the blog... When i updated it.

Well, the opening of the Residency artist show "Please Take It Seriously" with Bernice and guest artist, Hafiz is over.

The feedback was not very good, most people felt that it was "very bad" - mainly mentioning that it is loose and unresolved. Not sure if anyone told her that yet. People don't really talk or critque unless necessary. Or people tend to forget "everything" bad or good. Maybe we can discuss this point, why people don't talk or dialogue about art.

Part of what the artist residency @ p-10 is provide a studio and an exhibition at the end of it. Quite straight-forward really. We give the artist the space and freedom to do what they want.

Worked on the sponsorship application today, -- for Koh's show, re-arranged the p-10 shop items, planned the coming week meetings and talked to Colin to arrange for a talk sometime this month. Then went home. Tommorow (sunday), should be a rest day - need a break!

Hi all, Been another busy busy week. Or has it been two weeks...? We had meetings - to plan and plan. Me & jteo went up to K.L. to meet up with Rumah Air Panas people.

p-10, trying to involve some of them in a project (now a secret) in October. Finished the proposAl for the october project yesterday. Well, only first draft - more work on it.

Yes, Bernice, our artist in residence will be showing - this thursday!

Been workiing on Koh's project which will be premiered in September. Updated the website last night...

Also preparing for the Brisbane residency project as well.
